What is UV Printing?
UV printing is a cutting - edge digital printing technology that uses ultraviolet (UV) light to dry or cure the ink almost instantly as it is applied to the printing surface. Unlike traditional printing methods that rely on evaporation or absorption of solvents in the ink, UV printing leverages the power of UV light to transform the liquid ink into a solid state rapidly.
Printing Process
Ink Application: First, the printer sprays or deposits the UV ink onto the printing substrate, which can be a wide variety of materials such as plastic, glass, metal, wood, and paper.
UV Curing: Immediately after the ink is applied, a UV lamp emits UV light onto the wet ink. The photoinitiators in the ink absorb the UV energy and start a polymerization process. This process causes the monomers and oligomers in the ink to link together, forming a solid polymer network.
