UV DTF (Ultraviolet Direct-to-Film) is a digital ink-jet system that first prints full-color graphics onto a specialty PET film and then cold-laminates an adhesive layer. The finished “sticker” can be pressed by hand onto almost any rigid or lightly curved surface in seconds—no heat press required. It merges the speed and photo-realistic quality of UV-LED curing with the convenience of cold-transfer decals, hence its nicknames “crystal labels” or “UV transfer stickers.”

Workflow
Design:
Create CMYK + White + Varnish layers in RIP software.
UV Print:
Jets the image onto 100 µm PET release film; LED-UV lamps instantly cure the ink, creating glossy or matte spot-varnish effects.
Cold Lamination:
A pressure roller applies a clear, pressure-sensitive adhesive film (B-film) to the printed surface, forming a two-layer “sandwich.”
Transfer:
Peel the graphic from the PET liner and press it onto glass, metal, plastic, ceramic, wood, leather, or gently curved objects—finished in seconds without heat.

Q1: Which materials can UV DTF stick to?
A: Virtually any rigid or gently curved surface—glass, metal, ceramic, acrylic, PC, ABS, PVC, wood, leather, carbon fiber, etc. For silicone, TPU or very low-surface-energy plastics, corona/plasma pre-treatment is recommended.
Q2: Will the graphic peel or scratch off?
A: After full UV cure and lamination, adhesion meets ISO 2409 Grade 0–1. It resists fingernail and coin scratches. Outdoors, expect 2–3 years without fading; indoors, 5+. A clear coat or epoxy dome can further enhance durability.
Q3: Does UV DTF need primer, coating, or powder?
A: No. Unlike conventional DTF that requires powder and oven curing, UV DTF uses pre-cured UV inks plus a cold adhesive film—completely clean and dust-free.
Q4: Can it print on clear or dark objects?
A: Yes. An integrated white-ink channel lays down an opaque under-base before CMYK and varnish, ensuring vivid colors on both dark and transparent substrates.
Q5: Are UV DTF stickers re-positionable?
A: No. The adhesive is pressure-activated and permanent after first contact. For removable needs, specify a low-tack adhesive film when ordering.
